Search Strategy #2 – Contact Naukri Recruiters

Finding & Contacting recruiters.

One way to get in touch with recruiters in your industry and city is to use Naukri and LinkedIn. Follow the simple steps to get in touch with them.

We are going to make a list of recruiters in your industry and city first, with Naukri. Naukri has a cool search feature to find recruiters based on different criteria. But the caveat is that Naukri charges you a fee to contact these recruiters. Once we have a list of recruiters from Naukri we are going to find their contact information for free from LinkedIn.

Most recruiters are active on LinkedIn!

  1. Head over to www.naukri.com and click on ‘Recruiters’ or directly go to http://recruiters.naukri.com/
  2. Select all your preferences like ‘Skills’, ‘Company’, ‘Location’, ‘Industry’ etc. Once you are done with the selection hit ‘Search’. You should get a list of recruiters matching your search preferences.
  3. Save this list to a file for future use.
  4. Now go to www.linkedin.com and type in the first full name from the list in the search box. To make it targeted, select ‘People’ as the criteria in the dropdown list next to the search text box.
  5. You should have a list of people with that name. Match the person from Naukri and LinkedIn with the help of the profile picture. They almost always have a picture uploaded on both the places. I have never seen a recruiter profile without a picture on these sites. In the rare case they don’t have a picture to match use the company (employer) present in Naukri and LinkedIn profile.
  6. Once you identify the person, send out a ‘Connection’ invitation to the person. Don’t spam them too much, if they mark your invitation as spam. LinkedIn may keep an eye on your profile and restrict certain features in the future. Use it wisely and responsibly!
  7. Also send a custom invitation message to stand out and not the default LinkedIn message!

P.S. I have blurred the pictures and names of the recruiters to protect their privacy.
