The best way to show this is by asking the right kind of questions relevant to the job and the company. You should prepare a list of questions before hand and have them ready to fire away during the interview. The best time to ask questions is during the end of interview when they ask you if you have any questions for them.
You should also indirectly show them that you have done your homework regards to the job opening and the company by asking questions that contain information that would need some research and that in turn will show them you did your homework before appearing for the interview. You can do this by finding out the products, partners/clients, locations/branches/service offering etc. And don’t forget its competitors! Also look up any recent news or articles surrounding this company.
You can bring all this info up during your questioning.
This will put you ahead of your competition. People rarely ask questions let alone job specific questions.
Types of questions:
You will be asking questions about the company, job, your responsibilities, team, project details etc.
Company:
If it is a big company, you can ask about its product line up, new products, products that will be phased out.
If it is a small company, you can ask about its strategy for growth, what direction it is headed in, its funding, number of employees etc.
Job:
You can ask about the technologies used, how big is the team, how many projects, responsibilities, what would be your immediate duties etc.
Projects:
What projects will you be working in, how many people working on the project, how old is it, what technologies used, what would be your role, duties, etc.
Hiring Decision Date:
When will they make the decision, when will you be notified.
