If your situation demands you to become an IT expert, become one!
Don’t get into the mentality of “oh I am a Civil Engineer what do I know about programming and networking?”, all you need to do is learn with patience! Join a course, ask a friend, do whatever it takes to learn the skills and achieve things in life.
Don’t be “pigeonholed”(typecast) as a BCom fresher, BBM fresher etc. Don’t listen to naysayers who say “you are only a BSc student, you will struggle in IT, I heard it is very difficult”, “BBM freshers, BCom will find it hard to do an IT job”. IT DOESN’T MATTER!!!!!!!
Wright brothers didn’t have the Internet, Google and a VTU degree to invent the first aircraft, but they did it anyways. Thomas Edison failed more than 1000 times before getting his bulb idea to work. If you are struggling to learn coding, database or networking, don’t worry keep doing it until you master it. Some of us are not quick learners and it is OK, as long as we try, and don’t give up until we succeed. With certain things I am not a quick learner, but that doesn’t stop me from achieving what I want!
Don’t forget our very own Jhamshed Tata, Dhiru Ambani, Azim Premji, Narayan Murthy succeeded from humble beginnings.
Create your own destiny. Take everything your family, friends and strangers say with a KG of salt, including this book. There are many people who have succeeded in life in spite of unsupportive friends, and families! You can do it too!
