To maximize our efforts to find a job fast we will target all the leading job portals including but not limited to Naukri, TimesJobs. Also LinkedIn professional network. I have found LinkedIn to be a good source of recruiters. There are many active recruiters we can connect to and contact them for available opportunities. Even if they don’t have any in their company they can always refer us to their peers in other companies. Of course this is only possible if we have a complete profile and are proactive in finding and contacting them. And demonstrate we are serious about finding a job and passionate in our field!
I feel Naukri is the #1 job portal to target. As I have mentioned earlier Naukri allows you to use up to 5 profiles, resumes and cover letters. You can also attach a cover letter to a particular profile. A good strategy would be to have a main foundation resume and then branch off into 4 different customized resumes targeting job titles you prefer or that are popular.
There are no excuses to not use all 5 profiles, unless you don’t really want to find a job! Make sure each profile is complete and targets a particular job title (TJT) if possible.
Now that we have well written resumes targeting specific jobs, it is now time to create the profiles for these resumes. I will walk you through the Naukri profile creation, since Naukri is the most popular. You can apply this knowledge to other portals as well.
I will create one profile; make sure you create the other profiles as well. Our goal is to fill as much information as possible. To make it easy to be picked up by the algorithm.
Create an account on Naukri, verify your email after that. Once you are setup go to the profile section and create a new profile.
P.S. TJT=Target Job Title.
